Makali’i: The Celestial Journey
It is said that our ancestors traveled the vast pacific islands using the earthly elements of the wind and tides. The map of our voyagers can be found within the stars. From the islands of Kahiki, Kamohoaliʻi, the navigator and eldest brother of Pele, used these same stars to find his way here to these islands. Utilizing his hand with the outstretched thumb upon the horizon and the index upon Makaliʻi, the star constellation Pleiades, to find his location while on the sea. Makaliʻi also marks the start of the Makahiki or the time of prosperity. Eo Makaliʻi!
Set under the Hawaiian stars on the Big Island’s Makani Golf Club in Pu’uanahulu, ‘Oahi Entertainment will take you on a journey from Tahiti to Hawai’i, navigating through the islands using the stars above. Guests will be provided with dinner from none other than Umeke’s, voted West Hawai’i’s Best Seafood and Poke for four years running. This is an experience built for the Ali’i, and one that will leave you in awe.
